We’ve seen Alice Cooper survive getting his head chopped off many, many times in concert, but even he Cooper_Mask-1040x572would likely agree that taking a 100mph slap shot to the noggin isn’t a good idea.

Last night as part of the Arizona Coyotes’ National Hockey League (NHL) game, the team’s goaltender Mike Smith unveiled a new David Arrigo-designed mask with Cooper’s scary mug on the back of it. He wore it as part of his team’s Throwback Thursday promotion and led his team to a 3-2 shootout win over the Vancouver Canucks.

Prior to the game, Smith and Cooper posed together with the mask, as the veteran shock rocker dawned the Coyotes’ original (yet very ugly) Kachina jerseys.

“Alice Cooper has been a lifer of a Coyotes fan and a big supporter of the team,” said Smith about the mask. “[David’s wanted] to paint Alice Cooper on my helmet for quite a few years now and I finally let him have at it. Obviously, it’s amazing. It’s a tribute to Alice and the support he gives everybody on the team.”
