Anti-Flag Issuing Drone Strike-Shaped Vinyl

On May 26, Anti-Flag will release American Spring, the band’s first album since 2012’s The General anti-flag-drone-vinylStrike. Ahead of that, however, the Pittsburgh punks will put out a 10” die-cut vinyl for their new track, “Sky is Falling.”

Since the song zones in on the issue of drone attacks, the vinyl itself will take the shape of a drone strike. An image of a flying drone and fiery background will appear on one side, while the other will feature the expression “Pray for a cloudy day.”

When Riffyou.com spoke with Anti-Flag bassist Chris #2 earlier this year, he explained that “Sky is Falling” was inspired by an individual who testified before US Congress and stated that his neighbourhood looks forward to cloudy weather, because that means the drones won’t be flying on those days.

“It’s more about documenting a place in time and saying we could either go one way, or another,” continued #2 when he elaborated on the American Spring. “We could introvert and be depressed and not be able to grow, or we can do the opposite and flourish, find new things, relationships, and ideas to carry forward.”

The B-side of this 10” will have the Anti-Flag track “Close My Eyes,” a song that was once only available as part of the band’s ‘20 Years of Hell’ 7” series.

Only 500 copies of this vinyl will be pressed, so you better order quickly if you’re interested.
