Special David Bowie Vinyl Coming to Record Store Day

On the annual Record Store Day, it’s not uncommon to find an awesome, special edition David Bowie vinyl offering (or two!) on the shelves of your local shop. Seeing as this is the first Record Store Day to follow Bowie’s passing, seeing such vinyl will have a different, perhaps even more significant feel than in years past.

Available on April 16, will be the 40th anniversary issue of Bowie’s TVC 15, as well as a reissue of The Man Who Sold the World in the original German LP format.

Details (courtesy of the David Bowie Facebook page):

The Man Who Sold the World:

“This picture disc features the original German LP fold out round cover with artwork designed by Witt of Hamburg. The sleeve originally unfolded to reveal two foot wide circular images of those featured here on the picture disc. The original version of this release is the rarest of the Mercury versions of the album, which include the ‘Dress Sleeve’ and the ‘Cartoon/Cowboy Cover.'”

TVC 15

“Originally released in April 1976, TVC 15 was the second single taken from the Station To Station album, with the smash hit Golden Years being the first, released in November 1975. This RSD 2016 release will be a double A side with the 2010 single edit of Wild Is The Wind making its vinyl debut here.
