Foo Fighters Playing Crowd-Funded Show on September 17

In March, a group led by enormous Virginian Foo Fighters fan, Andrew Goldin, kicked off a crowd-funding campaign to try and get the equally enormous Foo Fighters to come back to Richmond, VA, for the first time since 1998.

“Rather than waiting, and waiting and waiting for our favorite band to come to us, we’re making it happen,” said Goldin at the time.

After the $70,000 fundraising goal was reached in June (thanks to 1,400 hundred pledges/tickets sold at $50 each, and donations from local businesses) Dave Grohl and company agreed to partake. Now, a date and venue has been set: September 17 at Richmond, VA’s National Theater.

This will be the Foo Fighters’ first official North American show since it announced plans to release their highly-anticipated new album, Sonic Highways, on November 10. They’ll play London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on September 14 as part of the closing of the Invictus Games.

Sonic Highways Tracklisting:

1. “Something From Nothing”
2. “The Feast and the Famine”
3. “Congregation”
4. “What Did I Do?/God as My Witness”
5. “Outside”
6. “In the Clear”
