Lana Del Rey to Sing for Dead People at Cemetery

Perhaps because it can be boring to continuously play amphitheatres, theatres, halls, festival fields, clubs and other more normal Lana-Del-Rey-West-Coast-2014concert settings, Lana Del Rey has announced a pair of shows that could quite likely wake the dead and spur on a zombie dance party.

On October 17 and 18, Del Rey will perform at the Hollywood Forever cemetery, a place that describes itself as the “final resting place to more of Hollywood’s founders and stars than anywhere else on earth.”

The Ultraviolence album-maker isn’t being overly weird here or anything, as Hollywood Forever does host an array of performances on its grounds. For instance, the very tastefully named Comedy is Dead XVIII showcase will be featured on October 9. The full roster of performances can be found within the Cultural Events section of the cemetery’s website.

As for the Del Rey show, tickets are $65.50 and go on sale September 27 through Ticketfly.

Oh, and by the way. Isn’t Del Rey the one who received flack not too long ago by saying “I wish I was dead already” during an interview? That makes this venue a really interesting choice.
