During a recent episode of BBC’s Live Lounge, Scottish synth-pop collective, CHVRCHES gathered for a glowing performance of Justin Timberlake’s massive 2002 hit, “Cry Me A River.”

While it’s hard not to admire a track designed to publicly shame Britney Spears and her supposed cheating ways, CHVRCHES do a magnificent job of turning the song’s glistening Top 40 polish into a deeper, more vulnerable escapade that’ll leave you hanging on every word delivered beautifully by Lauren Mayberry.

In 2013, CHVRCHES released their much-talked about debut album, The Bones of What You Believe, through Glassnote Records.
