Listen to “Cleopatra,” the New Song from Sloan

Earlier this month, it was revealed that veteran East Coast rock collective, Sloan, would release their latest – and perhaps most ambitious album to date – Commonwealth, on September 9.

The album has been split into four chunks, each of which is led by a different Sloan member.

Jay Ferguson’s portion is said to showcase his “remarkable knack for symphonic pop,” while Patrick Pentland zones in more on “pedal-hoppin’ psych rock.” Meanwhile, Chris Murphy’s section “burst[s] with wit, jangle, and electric energy,” as Andrew Scott’s territory is described as “an ingenious 18-minute pop suite.”

This week, “Cleopatra” – which is one of Ferguson’s tracks – has been released for our listening pleasure. You can enjoy it below:
