Brody Dalle will be releasing her new album Diploid Love next week (April 28), but has given fans an early taste of it by placing brody-dalle-diploid-love-smallmany free streams online.

The album, which was co-produced by Dalle and Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys), features guest appearances by Shirley Manson (Garbage), Nick Valensi (The Strokes), Emily Kokal (Warpaint), and more.

While “Meet the Foetus / Oh the Joy” is the single that you’ve likely heard already, it’s by no means the Diploid Love’s best moment. That’s not to say it’s a weak track, it’s to say that the album is unbelievably strong.

Dalle lets a myriad of influences out of their cages, corners them, and sees how well they play together. From punk rock affection, to glistening horn sections, to sincere vocal vulnerability, to re-exploring ‘90s rock and adding a little electronic flavour, this is an album that’ll open up a whole new, steady musical future for Dalle.

Our friends at Exclaim! are streaming Diploid Love today, and we encourage you to check it out.
