Nickelback – everyone’s favourite, or least favourite modern rock act, depending on who you ask – has nickelbackbeen forced to scrap all 2015 tour dates. We’ll give you a minute to absorb this news.

This tour cancellation comes as a result of Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger having surgery in June to remove an intracordal cyst on his voice box. Initially, this surgery was expected to only affect the band’s North American summer tour, but now those in Europe are out of luck as well.

Although the surgery was a success, notes a press releases, doctors have ordered Kroeger to rest his voice for the next six to eight months.

“Most of all, we are sorry to miss our fans out on the road this fall, but Chad’s health, healing and full recovery are what is most important right now,” reads a statement issued by the band. “With the proper amount of time, we hope to have him back stronger and better than ever before. We thank everyone for their support and understanding during this time and look forward to getting back out on the road and playing music for everyone again real soon.”

We wish Kroeger a speedy recovery (seriously, we do). But, we hope that the time away will give him the chance to think about his crimes against music.
