Watch PUP Put “Mabu” to Rest in Demolition Derby

Share

To Stefan Babcock of PUP, “Mabu” is more than just a song title: it’s the namesake of his once beloved 1996 champagne-coloured pup-mabuToyota Camry. As the vehicle began to deteriorate, Babcock realized it was time to put the beast out of its misery. But first, an epic sendoff was required.

As you’ll see in PUP’s new video for “Mabu,” the band takes their time re-decorating (read: trashing) the vehicle – and dousing themselves in milk while stacked in the trunk – before bringing it to a demolition derby in Fergus, ON, for its swansong.

Directed by Hollerado’s Menno Versteeg and guest-starring Wade MacNeil (Gallows, Alexisonfire), this four-minute clip can teach us all about how to properly take a car out of this world.

Have a box of Kleenex available. You may get emotional.
