Kings of Leon Experience a Bad Break

Kings of Leon were forced to postpone their show on Sunday evening in Saratoga Springs, NY, “due to an accident on their tour bus.” As Kings of Leon, left to right: Jared, Caleb, Matthew and Nathan Followill.explained upon the band’s official Facebook page, KOL were heading back to their hotel after a gig in Boston when a pedestrian jumped in front of the vehicle. The driver stopped short, which resulted in passenger and drummer Nathan Followill breaking some ribs.

Ticketholders are able to request a refund at point of purchase, but do note that KOL haven’t completely cancelled, so there is a chance that they could return to the area at a later date during this tour.

KOL are scheduled to play next on August 13 at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre in Wantagh, NY. Stay tuned to the band’s website or social media accounts to see if this, and further shows will go ahead.

Morrissey gets Labelled

If Morrissey isn’t being accused of wanting to kill a blogger that says bad things about him, than he is saying bad things about his label and subsequently getting fired. After not so subtly denouncing his label Capitol Records/Harvest this past week for not funding music videos and not getting him any TV appearances, the label struck back announcing that they were parting ways with Moz. The timing of this news comes just three weeks after Morrissey released his latest album World Peace is None of Your Business. In June, he cancelled all tour dates citing further health issues.

Pennywise sound-off at Heavy MTL

At Parc Jean Drapeau, veteran punks Pennywise were one of the featured attractions at this weekend’s Heavy MTL festival. Unfortunately, as reported by Exclaim, a poor sound mix and a questionable P.A. system led to most of the performance being “unlistenable.” When the songs were loud and clear enough to be deciphered, Pennywise was said to be “spot on.” Among the highlights was one of the band’s most notorious tracks, “Fuck Authority,” being belted out by original frontman, Jim Lindberg, who recently returned to the fold for the 2014 album, Yesterdays.

Smells Like Arcade Fire

Throughout their Reflektor tour, Arcade Fire have performed regional covers at all stops in which they’ve taken the stage. On Friday night at The Gorge in George, WA, the band played portions of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” during the intro and outro of “Rococo.” You can watch it here:

For the HAIM of it

At a warm-up gig in San Francisco on Saturday night, The Killers welcomed HAIM’s Danielle Haim behind the drum kit for a rendition of the Hot Fuss track “On Top.” During her introduction, Killers frontman Brandon Flowers said: “People keep talking about how dance music’s taking over and people aren’t playing music anymore and all of this. And I think there’s homes for everything, but one of the bands that came out and dropped a record on us in 2013 and gave us hope for people playing music was Haim. Danielle, the singer from Haim, is actually a hell of a drummer, and she’s gonna play with us.” Watch the performance here:
