Who are you and what do you do?
in-the-go-smalll“We are guys who have been playing for 15 years and we enjoy every moment of it!”

In 100 words or less, tell us how your band has gotten to this point.
“In The Go was formed 15 years ago in Split, Croatia, by dedicated local musicians determined to combine song writing energy and instrumental versatility with a fresh, upbeat slant. For over 10 years, we have been playing local clubs and European festivals, and opening dates for Arctic Monkeys and Robert Plant. After releasing two CDs in Croatia, the band recorded its first English-language EP in 2012, and in February, 2014 we recorded a full album in Florida and New York.

What is your latest release and how would you best describe it to someone who hasn’t heard your band?
“We have just finished the new album and it is scheduled to be released by the end of 2014. It is kind of indie rock music with a lot of mood change. The album is very deliberate and resolute.”

When making an album, which aspect of the process do you put the most time into and why?
“Song writing and rehearsing. We think that pre-production is really important. There is not much that you can do in the studio if the band is not prepared…unless the studio is your rehearsal room too.

What is the best part about your band and why?
“I guess the group of people in the band have been friends for 20 years… we believe in what we do.”

What makes your band unique from the rest?
“We’re not trying to be unique … we only give the best of what we have!”

How does your band survive the challenges of touring/gigging?
“Everything with regards to gigs is cool and fun, or it should be. To be away from the family can make us to feel nostalgic…and some of us are parents. But, this is what we are doing and it’s what makes us happy!”

Would you rather be critically-acclaimed; rich and famous; or an under-the-radar band with a dedicated fan base?
“Above-the-radar with dedicated fan base.”

If you’d have to compare your band to another one out there, living or dead, who would it be and why?
“It is unthinkable to compare yourself with other bands, especially the great ones! We are trying to do our own thing, experimenting with the sound and song writing. Bands like The Cure, David Bowie, Radiohead have influenced us as musicians.”

Which band/musician would you like to share many drinks with? What would you talk about?
“With the lot of them, any good musician is a good drinking buddy. We’d probably discuss some crazy stuff.”
