On March 18, Iggy Pop will release Post Pop Depression, an album in which the punk forefather has suggested will be his last. Helping him out musically on this walk into the sunset has been Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme.

In a new interview with The Guardian, Homme spoke at length about his appreciation for Pop and how his fearlessness has turned him into a legend.

“Lemmy is gone. Bowie is gone. He’s the last of the one-and-onlys. It took balls to be him: a little guy with a big dick scaring people in Detroit,” said Homme. “Everyone should take a knee for Iggy. He deserves it. He never got [the respect or the acclaim], mostly by his own hand, but he made the shit that’s spawned more bands than any other person, ever. Bring on the statues, you motherfuckers!”

A statue would be a pretty impressive sight to see, especially if it was designed by someone who recently sketched Pop’s naked body for a recent art exhibit.

“I feel like I’m closing up after this. That’s what I feel. It’s my gut instinct,” offered Pop in a February interview with Beats1. When asked if he meant he’ll never make music again, Pop elaborated: “No. If you call me and you want to work out a deal to come and sing ‘Happy Birthday’ at your mother’s, something like that I’ll refer you to someone. But to really make a real album you really have to put everything into it and the energy’s more limited now.”
