Jay-Z’s Got 99 Problems and Lacrosse is One

If you have ever watched a lacrosse game in your life, you’d quickly realize that those who play it are a tough batch of hombres jay-z-1-smallunafraid of two-handed slashes with sticks, and a dense ball being whipped by their ears.

Jay-Z, however, has a different opinion. As a way to get back at lint brush-loving hip-hop artist Drake for saying that he was probably “somewhere eating a fondue plate” instead of watching a Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets NBA playoff game, H.O.V.A. shot back with a rap claiming that Drake was “as soft as a lacrosse team.”

Drake hasn’t yet responded, but lacrosse has certainly not taken this parting shot sitting on its hands. Following Jay-Z’s quip, Major League Lacrosse issued the following biting statement:

“Lacrosse is often called the fastest sport on two feet. Players are on the field dodging and shooting balls at over 100 miles per hour. With that said we don’t think Jay-Z knows what he’s talking about when he calls Lacrosse ‘soft’. I can guarantee you it is anything but a ‘soft’ sport.’ Mr. Carter would not last one minute on a lacrosse field during a match and he is more than welcome to come to any of our games and try.”

This sounds like a challenge to me. Will Jay-Z take the bait?

Not likely. As much as it’s easy to disagree with a lot of things Drake says, Jay-Z is probably somewhere eating a fondue plate. Lacrosse players, I suspect, laugh in the face of fondue.
