Jimmy Page Stamping Books, Not Autographing Them

Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page won’t be giving fans a whole lotta love today during an appearance at a Toronto-based Indigo book shop. According to the event’s listing, the “Stairway to Heaven” guitar-slinger will be stamping copies of his book, rather than signing them. Wait, what?

Page is appearing at the store to promote his Jimmy Page by Jimmy Page book, a $55 read that’s described as “an exploration of a legendary career through significant photos and extended captions.”

According to Indigo’s description of Page’s appearance, only 300 individuals will get to share the air with Page. He will subsequently dole out just one “exclusive” stamp per person, as long as that person has bought Jimmy Page by Jimmy Page. There won’t be any room for a personalized autograph or the ability to have any other Page-related memorabilia signed.

But, don’t fret, because “candid photography” is permitted…whatever that means.

Judging by a photo published just ahead of Page’s appearance, it appears that fans are more than willing to get screwed…we mean, stamped.
