Listen to 8 Seconds of the New Foo Fighters Album

Foo Fighters have been building up the hype for their forthcoming eighth studio album by smartly revealing small details at a very calculated foo-fighters-8-coverpace.

What we know right now, is that whatever the album may be, it’ll be directly connected to the Dave Grohl-helmed HBO series, Sonic Highways. The program will document the making of the band’s new album, a process that saw the guys record in eight different, yet regarded studios across the land. Butch Vig has produced the thing (he says it’ll be “epic”), and there’ll supposedly be some intriguing musical collaboration.

We’ve also seen what’s believed to be the cover artwork that Foo Fighters have decided to go with. It’s a scenic shot featuring landmarks from all eight studio cities melded together. There’s also a sizeable ‘8’ located in the middle.

Lastly, Monday – it’s been declared – will be the day in which the band will make a “significant” announcement regarding the album. You’d have to think that this is when the levee will break, right?

To get us through the weekend, Foo Fighters have released an eight second YouTube video of Grohl’s voice blasting out of a giant studio speaker. “Aaaaaaaariiiiiiiiiise” (arise) is what we’re hearing. How about you?

Anyways, hold tight – Christmas could be coming on Monday!
