Metallica Had the Best Night Ever at San Jose Sharks Game

Last night, Metallica took a break from working on their next album to take in a National Hockey League (NHL) game between the San Jose Sharks and defending Stanley Cup champions, the Los Angeles Kings.

However, they were more than just spectators in San Jose: Metallica was the team’s guest of honour for, you guessed it, ‘Metallica Night.’

During their time at the rink – James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, and Robert Trujilo, (Kirk Hammett was M.I.A.) – Metallica announced the Sharks’ starting lineup; participated in the ceremonial puck drop and an on-ice competition; wore custom made jersey’s and t-shirts; plus got into some hijinks with San Jose’s mascot Sharkie and arena staff.

So what’s connection here, for one, Metallica’s 1983 track “Seek & Destroy” has been used as the Sharks’ entrance song for a number of years now.
