San Francisco (technically, Santa Clara) will play host to the National Football League’s (NFL) Super Bowl 50 on Sunday, February 7. The night before, San Fran’s favourite metal sons, Metallica, will headline CBS Radio’s Night Before show at AT&T Park.

Tickets for the concert, which will also feature Cage the Elephant, are priced $49.50-$149.50 and go on sale to the general public on November 6 at 1pm EST. A variety of pre-sale options can be found on Ticketmaster. Metallica, meanwhile, has said that details regarding its fan club pre-sale will become available on November 3 at the band’s official website.

What’s disappointing about this news, however, is that it pretty well guarantees that Metallica will not be the musical guest that headlines the much-publicized and coveted Super Bowl Halftime Show. It looks as if we’ll once again be subjected to pop stars.
