Chicago punk rockers Rise Against have charged out of the gates hard with their latest album, The Black Market, as it has debuted at #1 on the Rise-Against-Photo011-smallCanadian Neilsen SoundScan chart. Released on July 15, this is the first offering from the band since their 2011 #1 album, Endgame.

Of The Black Market, the band’s vocalist Tim McIlrath says: “Rise Against has always been a political band, but also a personal band. We’ve always had songs that have a foot in both worlds. This album is a lot more introspective to me.”

When discussing the excellent lead single, “I Don’t Want to be Here Anymore,” Rise Against says that it “is a starting point, not an ending point. It’s about the wake-up calls in life that let us know something needs to change.”

After 15 years, Rise Against have sold more than four million copies of their six albums, combined.
