While Jack White often lets the music do the talking for him, but a new (seemingly unauthorized?) biography will soon arrive and shed more light on the life and times of the Detroit-born rock n’ roller.

Penned by Nick Halsted, Citizen Jack: How Jack White Built an Empire From the Blues, will reportedly be “the only book yet to tell the full story of the 21st century’s most influential rock star, based on interviews from people close to White.”

Not stopping there, the book is also said to share “the definitive history of the Detroit scene in which The White Stripes first flourished. No other book goes as deep into the lore of Jack White and The White Stripes.”

Hasted’s previous work includes biographies of The Kinks and Eminem.

Citizen Jack: How Jack White Built an Empire From the Blues will be available through The Overlook Press as of October 4. A hard copy will set you back $29.95.
