Days of rumours regarding the retirement of legendary rock crew AC/DC have been struck down by the band’s vocalist Brian acdc-smallJohnson. It has been widely reported that guitarist Malcolm Young recently had a stroke, and has since been unable to properly play his instrument.

In an exclusive interview with The Daily Telegraph, Johnson did confirm that a member of the band is ill, but refused to offer more detail than that.

“One of the boys has a debilitating illness,” confirmed Johnson, “but I don’t want to say too much about it. He is very proud and private, a wonderful chap. We’ve been pals for 35 years and I look up to him very much.”

Johnson, who also said that he is “not ruling anything out” with regards to the band’s future, noted that the band will return to Canada in May to see if a follow-up to 2008’s Black Ice can be made.

“We are definitely getting together in May in Vancouver,” he said. “We’re going to pick up some guitars, have a plonk, and see if anybody has got any tunes or ideas. If anything happens, we’ll record it.”

There’s also been discussion that AC/DC would be interested in a 40th anniversary tour that would consist of 40 shows at 40 different venues. Johnson told the publication that he would be interested in such a possibility, but failed to confirm that a tour is in the works.
