Black Sabbath Bassist Wins Bar Fight…We Think

If there’s one thing we should all know by know, it’s not to mess with Black Sabbath. Having survived Black Sabbathcopious substance abuse issues, internal battles, medical problems, as well as pitchfork-wielding religious folks who just don’t get it, the band may really be immortal.

So when you see Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler at a bar, you best not mess with him, because you’ll likely not win.

According to a press release issued by the Office of the Sheriff in Inyo County, CA, Butler got into an altercation shortly after midnight on January 27 at the Corkscrew Saloon, located at the Furnace Creek Ranch property in Death Valley National Park.

Witnesses claim that a physical altercation occurred at the venue, which resulted in “an individual being struck,” as well as a broken window. Butler was subsequently arrested for misdemeanor assault, public intoxication, as well as vandalism. He was booked into the Inyo County Jail, but then released after detox and citation.

The 65-year-old Butler has yet to comment on the matter.

But, you know he is somewhere right now listening to “Iron Man” on loop.

Last year, Ozzy Osbourne confirmed that Black Sabbath would like to do one last album and tour this year. While nothing has been set in stone, this is what he had to say at the time:

“The whole Sabbath experience this time around was great,” said Osbourne when commenting on the band’s well-received 2013 album, 13. “We all made friends, we didn’t fuck around, we all knew that we had a job to do, and we did it. It was a lot of fun. So we’re going to do one more album, and a final tour.”
