as-days-fade-1Band Name: As Days Fade
Band Members: Blake Thomas (vocals, guitar) Anthony Brienza (guitar), and Anthony Augusta (bass).
Years Active: 6
City of Origin: Queens, NY.

Who are you and what do you do?
“We’re a metal band from Queens/Long Island New York. We are the kids your mother warned you about. But we are really nice. We swear.”

In 100 words or less, tell us how your band has gotten to this point.
“Hard work and an amazing fan base. We were all friends before we started the band, and we all share a passion for music. So eventually it was just natural for us to start a band together. After some time practicing as a band, we began to play local shows and noticed that we started to genuinely attract fans. Before we knew it, fans would come to our shows and actually sing along to our music and support us to unbelievable lengths. That was enough motivation for us to put everything we have to make this band known everywhere.”

What is your latest release and how would you best describe it to someone who hasn’t heard your band?
“Our latest EP is Carpe Noctem. This five-track release is a fast driving upbeat metal record. It has breakdowns, to screaming guitar, to driving riffs with a hardcore punk groove to it which will leave you head-banging from start to finish.”

When making an album, which aspect of the process do you put the most time into and why?
“We honestly put 110% into everything when it comes to making music. Song writing is important because the songs are what make our band, our band. We want to write songs everyone can listen to. Once the songs are written and set in stone, we add the final touches in the production stage (whether it’s adding strings, organs, studio effects, etc.) until we feel satisfied with our product. After all that, you best believe we practice to the bone to make sure we perform our songs to a ‘T.’ What’s the use of writing a good song if you can’t play it?”

What is the best part about your band and why?
“The best part about our band is all the people we get to meet everyday and connect with through our music. It’s a good feeling to be able to make someone’s day by simply writing a song that they listen to as a pick me up. Also, being in a band with your best friends, that’s definitely a HUGE plus.”

What makes your band unique from the rest?
“Our personalities being reflected and expressed musically. We are all different, with different interests, and different hobbies. We also listen to a lot of different music on our own time. When it comes to collaborating on new music, we as-days-fade-2have a lot of different great things to bring to the table that makes the end product unique.”

How does your band survive the challenges of touring/gigging?
“Just by being ourselves and enjoying the shows we play. We also balance our responsibilities out well, and always see eye to eye with each other. Everyone is always helping each other.”

Would you rather be critically-acclaimed; rich and famous; or an under-the-radar band with a dedicated fan base?
“We’d rather do what we love, be broke, and be recognized by people around the world, than be rich, become unnoticed and looked over.”

If you’d have to compare your band to another one out there, living or dead, who would it be and why?
“We sound like As Days Fade. If we had to name artists that we are similar to, it would be a combination of a few: Bullet for my Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Asking Alexandria, Darkest Hour, and Miss May I.”

Which band/musician would you like to share many drinks with? What would you talk about?
“Eminem. We would talk about how he got started and all of the behind the scenes fun over the years. As well as what he does other than make music. Play sports? Go mini golfing? Who knows?!”
