During an interview with Deadline‘s AwardsLine, director Brett Morgen confirmed that a Kurt Cobain solo album will emerge on November 6. It’ll coincide with the DVD/Blu-ray release of the Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck documentary.

As previously reported, the album is expected to feature all of the music from Montage of Heck, along with a dozen addition Cobain songs, audio montages and a comedy sketch.

“[It’s] curated to feel as though one were sitting in Kurt’s living room watching him create over the course of an afternoon,” explained Morgen to Billboard.

“These are all just Kurt by himself with the guitar,” continued Morgen. “These aren’t multi-track, finished songs or work-ups, but they’re extraordinary, and I think they provide a tremendous insight into his [creative] process. I think they further our understanding of Kurt, both as a musician and as a man.”
