Yesterday in Beverly Hills, California, a bunch of rock n’ roll memorabilia  went up for auction, including the sweater Kurt Cobain worn during Nirvana’s appearance on MTV Unplugged.

While it wasn’t the biggest selling item of the day (a John Lennon guitar sold for more than $2.4 million), Cobain’s sweater was sold by Juliens Auctions for $140,800.

According to the auction house, the sweater was purchased by a friend of the Cobain family.

A lock of Cobain’s hair was also up for auction, but thus far it is unknown how much that was sold for, or who bought it.
