As Scott Weiland continues along with his new band The Wildabouts, he’s seemingly not done speaking on behalf of his former band Stone Temple Pilots.

In a new interview with Alternative Nation, Weiland said that Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington is no longer holding down the frontman duties of Stone Temple Pilots.

“He’s not in the band any more,” offered Weiland. When pressed on the matter, he added, “I heard he’s not in the band anymore.”

Thus far it’s unclear who Weiland got this information from, or if this information is even true.

Continued Weiland: “[Chester’s] got a band where he gets paid $700,000 a night with, and with STP, the brand is kind of falling apart, which is a shame.”

And now we await word from Stone Temple Pilots and Bennington.
