Last May, Dave Monks of Tokyo Police Club told Riffyou.com that the plan for his band was to put out an album by March 2016. After yesterday’s emergence of the infectious new tune, “Not My Girl,” it felt as if the fellas were well on their way.

Then, we learned about the April 8 release date. That’s cool, we can wait a bit longer.

“We decided with this [album] that we didn’t want to do it in one, big block of studio time – partially because we don’t all live in Toronto now,” Monks told us in 2015. “We’re just trying to shake off the usual industry stuff and do [the next album] in a more chill way.”

What’s different, however, is that it appears Tokyo Police Club will release (at least!) a pair of EPs rather than one, big album. The title, of course, is very awesome and a nod to the Smashing Pumpkins: Melon Collie and the Infinite Radness.
