Pharrell Williams & Al Gore Announce Live Earth 2015

It’s been nearly eight years since the climate change awareness Live Earth concert took place in a myriad pharrell-williams-hat-smallof venues across the world. Former US Vice President Al Gore surely must not believe that the planet is healthy enough, because today he and “Happy” singer Pharrell Williams announced Live Earth 2015.

The event will be held on June 18, with concerts taking place in Paris, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Beijing, Sydney, Capetown, as well as at a research facility in Antarctica. Over 100 artists will perform, but thus far no acts have been confirmed.

As you may recall, more than 150 artists performed at the 2007 edition of Live Earth, including Metallica, Foo Fighters, Neil Young, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins and many more.

Live Earth 2015 will precede December’s United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris.

There’s no word on whether or not Williams will be bringing his amazing Arby’s hat.

Here’s a trailer for the event:
