Security Hauls Damon Albarn Offstage as his Set Hits 5-Hour Mark

This weekend at Roskilde Music Festival in Denmark, Blur‘s Damon Albarn laughed in the face of a curfew and the notion that a festival set doesn’t need to last beyond 90-minutes.

While performing with his African Express collective, Albarn kept the set going for five hours before security – at 4am – decided that enough was enough.

Albarn, who clearly didn’t want to leave the stage, encouraged the crowd to keep security and festival organizers at bay so that the show could go on. The heavies, unfortunately, couldn’t be swayed and Albarn was subsequently picked up and carried offstage. It was certainly a sight to see.
