Watch Letterman Say Farewell with Foo Fighters

Share

On Wednesday night, David Letterman said farewell to late night television with a star-studded Foos-Clipedition of The Late Show, which included a Top 10 list read by like of Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Tina Fey, Jim Carrey, Steve Martin, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Peyton Manning, Barbara Walters and Alec Baldwin.

Just months after spending a week-long residency on Letterman in celebration of the Sonic Highways album, Foo Fighters return to the Letterman stage to play the comedic legend off.

So what did Foo Fighters choose to do?

“Everlong,” of course – the same song in which the band performed on Letterman upon his return from heart surgery in 2000.

As Foo Fighters performed on Letterman’s final night, footage of the fellas was limited as a montage of the show’s most memorable moments ran over top of the stage show. However, it remained awesome.

You can watch a snippet of the footage right here, which includes the touching story about how that aforementioned “Everlong” performance took place:

Update: Here’s the complete performance/montage:
