Canadian punk rock veterans Gob has released a new video for “Radio Hell,” an angst-infused, identity-assuring track that Gob-Radio-Hellappears on Apt. 13, the band’s first new album in seven years.

The video, which was directed by Miguel Murray and Miguel Barbosa and, filmed by Jesse Hunt in North Vancouver, follows a skateboard-packing adventurer exploring the best that nature has to offer, before finding himself back in a suburban skate park in which Gob is performing within.

Earlier this year, Riffyou.com spoke with Gob frontman, Tom Thacker, about Apt. 13 (which was released by New Damage Records on August 26) and the conscious decision not to abide by the expectations that certain listeners may have for the band.

“We’ve never been a band that’s wanted to sound like other bands in our genre,” explained Thacker. “That’s a good thing and a bad thing. I think it’s a great thing, because we offer something unique. But at the same time, certain fans want all punk bands to sound exactly the same. We’ll never be that band, because it’s embarrassing when you sound like all of the other bands. We don’t follow the hits and try to write songs like that. No way. We pick the songs that we love and come naturally from us. That’s how we’ve always been.”
