While Weezer fans worldwide may have been banking on September 30 being the day they can finally jam to the band’s weezer-everything-will-be-alright-in-the-end-smallnew album – Everything Will Be Alright in the End – the group has announced that the release of it has been pushed back to October 7.

The band says that the recording sessions for the album have wrapped, but opted not to provide an explanation regarding the brief delay.

“This is a bummer and we really hate to make our fans wait longer,” reads a note posted by the band on their official Facebook page. “We worked very hard to finish the album on time for you, so we’re really sorry about this and hope you understand.”

That said, fans who have pre-ordered – or still plan on pre-ordering – the album through PledgeMusic, will receive a new song on September 30, “as a thank you” from Weezer.
