Nirvana Hits Compilation Getting Vinyl Reissue

As Nirvana and Kurt Cobain remain a hot topic in 2015 due to the Montage of Heck documentary and the conspiracy theories attached to the Soaked in Bleach film, sometimes what gets lost in all of this movie talk is the music.

Well, Universal Music is shifting the narrative a bit with plans to reissue the 2002 Nirvana hits compilation on vinyl. Available August 28, the album will be available in a standard, 33 RPM version, as well as a double, 200-gram LP that plays at 45 RPM.

A vinyl edition of this album was previously made available in Europe.

A digital reissue will be released on Blu-ray Pure Audio, allowing fans to listen to “Lithium,” “In Bloom” and “Smells Like Teen Spirit” in a high-resolution audio format.
