sloan-vinylThe latest edition of Sloan’s Bootleg Vinyl series will feature a 2002 live show that the band performed at Club Quattro in Tokyo. The material was recorded from the audience, during the band’s third trip to Japan in support of their sixth album, Pretty Together.

“It’s an LP that, at the time, was thought to be a bit slick sounding, perhaps in relation to records like One Chord to Another or Navy Blues,” reads a statement by Sloan guitarist Jay Ferguson regarding Pretty Together. “If that’s a concern, then I would dare say this loud recording from the floor strips a bit of the polish off compared to the studio counterparts.”

The material has been pressed upon a Japanese flag-style piece of vinyl and only 500 copies will be made available as of 12 p.m. EST on Wednesday, November 20 through Sloan’s Webstore. Each copy will be hand-numbered, while the album insert is a re-creation of “a charming Japanese fan letter.”

Also included is a high-quality digital download (MP3 or FLAC) of the whole LP, plus four bonus tracks: “Deeper Than Beauty,” “The Lines You Amend,” “People of the Sky,” and “Money City Maniacs.”
