Watch PUP’s Sinister, Yet Awesome, Video for “Guilt Trip”
If we are to believe that the story in the video for “Guilt Trip” accurately reflects the beginnings of PUP, no one should mess with the band…ever.
From being bullied, to becoming blood brothers, to a crooked cop (played by CBC’s Grant Lawrence) coming out on the wrong side of an adolescent dispute and subsequent bonfire, “Guilt Trip” has a very Hardcore Logo-esque feeling about it. This is something that directors Jeremy Schaulin-Rioux and Chandler Levack had wanted to accomplish.
“We were inspired to try and do something that feels like Hard Core Logo, The Goonies, and Over The Edge,” says Schaulin-Rioux. “There’s a sneaky cameo by the book Hard Core Roadshow.”
In reality, the video is essentially “a dramatic embellishment of PUP’s formation,” says the band’s frontman, Stefan Babcock.
Still, Riffyou.com would still recommend being very nice to these lads. But, you can just watch the video below and make your own determinations.
