Today, marks the release of Slayer’s eleventh studio album, Repentless, and the band is celebrating this special occasion by unveiling a bloody, prison riot video for the album’s title track.

Directed by horror movie veteran BJ McDonnell, the video for “Repentless” sees inmates get lose and go on a violent killing spree throughout the prison. Meanwhile, Slayer is outside in the prison yard as inmates and police battle in front of them.

Slayer guitarist Kerry King recently stated that the song “Repentless” was inspired by the band’s late guitarist, Jeff Hanneman. When Riffyou.com spoke will Slayer’s drummer Paul Bostaph in July, he reflected on how it felt to make this new album with Hanneman.

“It was very hard and a constant reminder that we lost our friend,” said Bostaph. “That being said, he was there the whole time. I always thought about Jeff as I recorded this album. There wasn’t a moment where he wasn’t on my mind. This performance meant a lot to me. His presence was there. We pushed through it without forgetting about our friend.”
