Billy Corgan Open to Writing with Miley Cyrus

Not to let the last days of 2014 roll to a completion without providing the world with another quote for the world to clench onto, Billy Corgan has spoken out after being approached with an offer to write songs for queen tongue sticker-outer Miley Cyrus.

During an interview with Paris’ OUI FM, Corgan explained his lack of interest in acting as a hired gun for Cyrus and the pop billy-corgan-miley-cyrusmusic industry as a whole.

“The problem is, and this is nothing against her, but that whole world in L.A. is they want you to write a bunch of songs, then the pop people pick through, ‘I want that one, I want that one.’ I don’t do that,” said Corgan.

However, that doesn’t mean Corgan would never have an interest in collaborating with Cyrus. For him, it really comes down to how he’s asked.

“If she called me and said, ‘Would you write a song with me?’ I would consider it because, again, she is very talented, and it would be a cool thing to explore,” he continued. “But, I’m not going to write a song and sit by the fire, hoping that Miley will pick my song over the next stupid song.”

Earlier this year, Corgan questioned the strength of Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters music, all the while defending himself after CNN anchor Anderson Cooper took potshots at him for no apparent reason. Oh, and he released a new album, Monuments to an Elegy.

As for Cyrus, experimental rockers, The Flaming Lips, recorded a cover of The Beatles’ “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.”
