Big Alexisonfire News Coming on Monday: We Have a Theory

Share

Judging by a newly created Instagram account and a mysterious Facebook post, it appears that Canadian AlexisonfireSurprisehardcore heroes, Alexisonfire, will have some news to share with us on Monday.

As you can see right here, all we have to go on is the band’s logo and Monday’s date. The hashtag #AOF2015 has also been spun into motion. Hmm, what could this mean?

Well, Alexisonfire has already released a highly successful box set, so perhaps something a little more condensed like a greatest hits package could be coming down the pipe?

That would be awesome, however, Riffyou.com thinks it is something else.

Canada’s most prestigious music awards show, the JUNOs, will be held in Hamilton, Ontario at FirstOntario Centre on Sunday, March 15. Coincidentally, when that venue was still known as Copps Coliseum, Alexisonfire played it for their final show ever on December 30, 2012.

What’s more, Dallas Green (the ex-vocalist of Alexisonfire) is nominated for multiple JUNO Awards this year as part of his You + Me project, but hasn’t been confirmed as a performer. However, we suspect that he’ll be in the room.

Thus, our theory is that Alexisonfire will perform at the 2015 JUNO Awards and perhaps announce limited tour dates for the future. Makes sense, doesn’t it?

Remember, this is just our theory and there is no way that we can confirm what will actually happen…yet. That said, when we asked an anonymous source close to the matter if Alexisonfire was reuniting, we were effectively given a ‘no comment,’ rather than a flat out denial.

Since Alexisonfire disbanded, Green has experienced big success with City and Colour as well as You + Me. Additionally, Wade MacNeil has become the frontman for UK punk band Gallows and Jordan Hastings is drumming for the rock trio, Say Yes. George Pettit, meanwhile, is hammering along with his new band, Dead Tired.
