Fat Mike Penned Musical Coming in 2015

Home Street Home, a musical co-written by Fat Mike Burkett of NOFX, Soma Snakeoil and Tony Award Winner Jeff Marx NOFX-cyber-tracks-el-hefe(creator of Broadway hit Avenue Q), will be touring the US in 2015 and see its soundtrack released on February 10 via Fat Wreck Chords.

The punk rock musical has reportedly been in the works for years and focuses on runaways that, as Rolling Stone puts it, “must navigate the perils of street life while trying to find their own place in the world.” It is still unknown who has been cast in the production, or when the tour will actually begin.

That said, the soundtrack itself looks rather stellar, as it’ll feature contributions from Frank Turner, Make Skiba (Alkaline Trio), the late Tony Sly, the Descendents, Lagwagon, Mad Caddies, Real McKenzies, Old Man Markley, as well as Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, and NOFX.

“Ever since I saw Rocky Horror [Picture Show] when I was 8, I’ve been intrigued by musicals,” said Burkett in a statement. “Well, not all musicals, just the ones that break the mold. Luckily, I found two people, Jeff Marx and Soma Snakeoil, that love breaking things as much as I do. This is fucking fun!”
